Dr. Michael Jones

Psychologist
Are you going through difficult changes in your life right now? Do you feel different, feel stuck? Does your therapy go in circles focusing on surface stuff, missing what’s really important? Sometimes you need to go deeper – to get to the heart of what is happening inside. That’s where I’m different. That’s where I can help.

My name is Dr. Michael Jones. I’m a licensed clinical psychologist. I work with people like you every day using psychoanalytic therapy to help them push through the barriers that are holding them back. Life changes, trauma, divorce, illness, career, aging can lead to paralyzing depression and anxiety. You may already feel that way. Bad experiences in childhood or adulthood can lead to ongoing overwhelming stress, defensive blow ups, or feeling afraid of everything, even relationships you desire. You’ve probably heard of PTSD; maybe Borderline Personality (BPD). Some bad experiences can make you vulnerable to PTSD or BPD. I can help with all of these.

You and I can form a productive, helpful therapy relationship through which to take these issues head on. There is no sense suffering. Let’s dig deeper and get you some help.

Do you need psychological assessment? I also perform limited pre-surgery psychological evaluations and personality evaluations.

We can talk more about it in a free 20-minute telephone consultation. Click below to learn more.

Psychotherapy

I offer personalized psychotherapy to adults and seniors looking for help with a wide spectrum of needs – self-exploration, urgent personal challenges, and serious mental illness. I specialize in the management of life changes (and their related issues including depression and anxiety) and overcoming the effects of trauma. Fundamental to my mode of therapy is the importance of the relationship between the patient and therapist.

Psychological Assessment

I use a variety of established psychological tests to understand personality, ways of thinking and feeling, and of being with others; understanding that may help therapy. I also use empirically supported testing for Pre-surgery Psychological Screening, screening that is often required prior to certain medical treatment or surgical procedures.
